The accommodations are contemporary and well-appointed, nestled amid peaceful surroundings, and situated just a brief walk from AU-Herning, VIA University College, and the Export School. Moreover, with the train station only five minutes away on foot, convenient travel to Aarhus and other parts of the country is readily accessible.

Daily life gains added convenience due to the proximity of Central Jutland’s largest shopping mall and a sizable grocery store. When it’s time to step away from academic work, residents can relax in the community’s dedicated “Student House,” which offers a café, bar, gym facilities, and a communal house ideal for social events and gatherings.

Regarding pets, this community permits animals including dogs and cats. However, reptiles and terrarium animals are not allowed. Smaller pets such as hamsters and cage birds may be kept, provided they do not cause disturbances through noise or odor as per the division’s house rules. The regulation concerning pet ownership is determined by a majority vote within the department.

The most recently built student residences, totaling 66 units, are constructed as passive houses, significantly minimizing energy consumption through enhanced insulation and highly efficient heat recovery systems. The student housing located on Korsørvej is also part of Birk Campus. These units are close to Herning’s city center and situated approximately 3 kilometers from both VIA University College and AU-Herning.

Parking spaces are conveniently located near the residences, and bike shelters are distributed throughout the neighborhood. Electric vehicle charging stations are also installed within the area.

Birk Campus offers a variety of housing options ranging from single to two-story layouts, some including terraces or French balconies. Certain apartments are equipped with range hoods and stoves, while others feature two hotplates and a small oven. All homes have a combined refrigerator and freezer, though the size varies between units. No internet service is provided in the Korsørvej residences. Conversely, Birk Centerpark properties are prepared for internet service via Dansk Kabel TV and are optionally compatible with YouSee. Korsørvej units typically include a basic package. None of the apartments have dedicated storage rooms; however, two-story units may use the space beneath the interior staircase for storage.

Additional expenses beyond rent include electricity, water, and heating, which are billed through different arrangements within the department. Cable TV and fiber internet services through YouSee are optional and charged directly by the provider, with the basic package requiring subscription. Internet access is likewise optional and settled directly with the service provider.

The entire division comprises 323 student dwellings and features a community house available for rent by residents. The buildings were constructed over the period from 1993 to 2008.
