Omtanken is made up of six separate buildings that together encircle a shared courtyard. Each of these buildings houses 12 residences, with the sole exception of building B, where part of the available floor area has been set up as a large communal room for the residents.

The apartments themselves range from 2- to 4-room units and are designed to suit people at different stages of life. In building B you will find Omtanken's common facilities: a multipurpose room, a kitchen/dining area and a communal laundry.
