Omtanken is composed of six buildings arranged in a ring around a shared courtyard. Each building contains 12 homes, with the exception of building B where part of the space has been set aside for a large communal room for residents. The apartments come in sizes from 2- to 4-room units and are intended for people in various stages of life.

Building B houses Omtanken's communal facilities, which include a multi-purpose room, a kitchen/dining area and a shared laundry. The multi-purpose room is designed to be adaptable and can be used for play, movement, film screenings, creative activities, games and larger gatherings. The communal kitchen/dining area accommodates everything from birthdays and communal dinners to a café, homework and meetings. These shared spaces make it possible to meet across the community and participate when it fits into everyday life.

Every apartment has its own balcony or terrace, allowing life to be enjoyed outdoors while remaining connected to the neighborhood's life and atmosphere. The homes are constructed with an emphasis on environmentally friendly materials and a healthy indoor climate, so the consideration extends beyond the community to the dwellings and settings where daily life takes place.
