Together these buildings form a square enclosing a sheltered communal garden where residents enjoy coffee under parasols in summer. Nørre Allé is positioned in the core area of Hjørring, with properties close together; the red-brick buildings there are three storeys, built in 1934 and renovated in 1987. The department also includes pleasant red-plastered two-storey buildings on Nørre Torv and Ths. P. Olesensvej from 1991, and Nørre Torv in the same style from 1988. At Ths. P. Olesensvej there is a fine grassed area with picnic tables and in all locations you will find idyllic cobbled courtyard environments ideal for enjoying a cup of coffee.

Christiansgade and Halsagerstien flank Christiansgave park, a popular excursion spot in the heart of Hjørring. Dronningensgade and Kongensgade face each other and share a pleasant courtyard with a bicycle shelter. There are two communal laundries at Halsagerstien and Dronningensgade, and Halsagerstien also houses a lovely community building available to all residents of the department. Nørretorv, Nørregade, Ths. P. Olesens Vej and Tinpottegyde offer one- to four-room apartments aimed at young people, older people, singles and families; in addition there is a single youth dwelling with two rooms. Brænderigården in Nørregade was built by distiller Niels Olesen during 1854-1857 and features a charming yellow facade with traditional multi-pane windows. In 1982 the old buildings were converted to family housing plus a single youth dwelling. Tinpottegyde was constructed in 2001/2002 in an old warehouse style to preserve a nostalgic atmosphere. Brænderigården has a very cosy courtyard with picnic sets, lawn, flowerbeds and a covered terrace. There is a communal laundry in Tinpottegyde and bicycle sheds are provided. In addition there is parking right by your home and the possibility to rent carports via waiting list.

The location is almost as central as it gets in Hjørring: shops and cafés are within easy walking distance and concerts, art, cinema and music venues can be reached without needing to drive. Schools, institutions and Hjørring's active sports life are all within 1-2 km. You can take a picnic to Folkeparken or Christiansgave, one of Hjørring's oldest city parks, and after a 20-minute drive the whole family can enjoy the waves at Lønstrup beach.
