Villestoftehaven is made up of one- and two-storey terraced houses arranged around a quadrangle, with a communal house positioned in the centre that helps provide the setting for a strong social life. The section contains 35 homes in total, of which 6 are youth apartments. Residents have access to a shared laundry room and there is a pétanque court available to the tenants.

The development is located north/west of Odense, approximately 4 km from a large shopping centre, 2 km from a school and about 8 km from Odense city centre. The individual homes offer spacious, light-filled rooms, all fitted with wooden floors. Each dwelling includes a stove, extractor hood and refrigerator. Small gardens belong to each home, although the youth apartments do not have these.

The community is mixed, housing young people, older residents and families, and there is a good neighbourhood spirit throughout the estate. At the annual meeting for all residents, decisions are made about the department's operation, rent and related matters. Tenants are free to alter the internal layout of their home, but proposed changes must first be reported. When moving out, you can receive compensation for any improvements you have paid for yourself. The development is well maintained: the estate caretaker looks after the communal green areas and carries out minor repairs in the homes, and an operations manager is attached to oversee the ongoing maintenance of the complex.
