The 16 youth flats receive plenty of natural light and feature beech wood floors and built-in cupboards in the bedroom. Kitchen units are white, and the shower bathrooms have linoleum on the floor and tiles on the walls. Fresh supplies and washing-machine coins can be purchased at the petrol station directly opposite. Water consumption is included in the rent. Heating is invoiced by the landlord as a monthly a conto amount. Electricity is billed directly by the utility company.

The Torvestræde block in the town centre was constructed in 1992 and contains family dwellings as well as wheelchair-accessible apartments with an elevator and homes without door thresholds; surrounding the building are pleasant green areas with table-and-bench sets. Østergade is another 1992-built apartment building arranged with youth flats and likewise offers green outdoor spaces with seating. The department also comprises 12 terraced houses for elderly residents, originally built in 1979 and renovated in 2001. A shared bicycle shelter serves both Østergade and Torvestræde. At a greater distance from Aabybro centre there are four clusters of single-storey red-brick row houses: Løvsangervej (1979) and Sneppevej (1988) adjoin one another, while Revlingestien (1985) and Perikumvej (2002) are likewise side by side. All these locations provide attractive communal areas with table-and-bench sets and playgrounds that include a zipline. The housing is predominantly family-sized with a few youth units. A limited number of carports belonging to Løvsangervej and Revlingestien can be rented when available, and Perikumvej and Revlingestien are connected to the town centre, schools and institutions by a safe path network. The red-brick row houses on Enebærvej were built in 1990 as one- or two-storey units and sit in the eastern part of Aabybro within a residential neighbourhood noted for its many green spaces and a secure pathway system to the town centre, schools and institutions; the section includes a playground with a zipline designed to carry adults and several table-and-bench sets scattered around the development.

The areas Bindeleddet, Hjorthsvej, Tegleværksvej, Sundbyvej, Stationsvej, Vadumvej, Anlægsvej, Vadumvej, Kildevangen consist of dense/low-rise buildings of various sizes located in Aabybro and the smaller villages Birkelse, Biersted, Nørhalne and Gjøl. The bright family and elderly homes all have beech parquet floors, while most of the youth flats have linoleum and some have laminate floors. Built-in cupboards are found throughout the bedrooms and in the entrances. The neighbourhood is close to school, a sports hall and a swimming pool, and Aabybro offers easy access to nature: within a 15-minute drive you can reach Hammer Bakker, Klitplantagen or the sandy beach between Blokhus and Tranum. A cultural centre is within walking distance of the department, and the town provides a wide selection of grocery stores, specialty shops and cafés. A physical comprehensive plan (Helhedsplan) for the housing area has been approved and may lead to changes in the rent and, in some cases, temporary rehousing after moving in. The physical works begin in mid-2027 and are expected to finish in 2030, and a rent increase of 10-12% should be anticipated as a result of the plan's completion.
