The location is highly convenient, situated within walking distance from AU-Herning, VIA University College, and the Export School, while the train station is just a five-minute walk away, providing easy connections to Aarhus and destinations across the country.

Daily life is made simpler with Midtjylland's largest shopping mall and a major grocery store nearby. When study breaks are needed, residents can unwind in the community's dedicated "Student House," which features a café, bar, fitness facilities, and a communal space for social events and gatherings. Pet owners are welcome to keep dogs and cats, though reptiles and terrarium animals are not permitted. Smaller pets like hamsters or indoor birds may be allowed if they do not disturb others with noise or odor, in accordance with the community's house rules. The decision regarding pet policies is determined through a majority vote by the residents.

The clean white-painted buildings and the lively atmosphere created by the Student House, complete with café, community hall, and gym, make Birk Campus a sought-after place for young people. The most recent set of 66 study flats were constructed as energy-efficient passive houses, significantly reducing energy consumption through enhanced insulation and highly efficient heat recovery systems; these homes are so well insulated that minimal movement can noticeably raise room temperature. The Korsørvej study accommodations are also part of Birk Campus and are conveniently positioned near Herning's center, about three kilometers from VIA University College and AU-Herning.

Beyond the Student House, the area offers amenities including a communal laundry facility, a football pitch, and a beach volleyball court. Parking spaces are located close to the residences, and bike shelters are distributed throughout the community. Electric vehicle charging stations have also been installed. The housing options vary widely, offering units in one or two levels featuring either terraces or French balconies. Some apartments come equipped with range hoods and stoves, while others have two hotplates and a small oven. Every unit includes a fridge-freezer combination, with some models having larger appliances than others. Internet connectivity differs within Birk Campus: while units on Korsørvej currently do not have internet access, those in Birk Centerpark come outfitted for internet service via Dansk Kabel TV, and all Birk Campus residences are prepared for optional YouSee subscriptions. Korsørvej units typically include a basic TV package. Storage rooms are not available, but two-level apartments may utilize storage spaces under the internal staircase.

Regarding expenses beyond rent, electricity, water, and heating are managed through varied arrangements across the community. Cable television and fiber internet services through YouSee are optional and billed directly by the provider, with the basic package requiring subscription. Apartment sizes are distributed as follows: 81 one-room units, 176 two-room units, and 66 two-room passive houses. It should be noted that standard floor plans may vary slightly from the specific units offered or depicted online.

Distance measurements from the campus are as follows: approximately 0.5 kilometers to VIA University College - Herning Campus and Aarhus University's AU-Herning; roughly 6 kilometers to the Herning Vocational School and Gymnasiums for HTX, HHX, and STX programs; about 0.5 kilometers to the train station; and 3.9 kilometers to Herning Central Library.
