Birk Campus represents a vibrant student residential environment situated in Herning, designed to meet the needs of students through a blend of secure surroundings and a lively community atmosphere. The area boasts modern, well-equipped apartments nestled in scenic settings, located just a short walk from AU-Herning, VIA University College, and the Export School. Convenience is further enhanced by the fact that the train station lies only five minutes on foot away, providing easy travel options to Aarhus and other parts of the country.

Everyday life is made simpler by the proximity to the largest shopping center in Central Jutland and a large grocery store nearby. For relaxation and social activities, tenants have access to the campus's dedicated Student House, which includes a café, bar, fitness facilities, and a communal space perfect for events and gatherings.

Pets are permitted within the community, including both dogs and cats. However, reptiles and terrarium animals are prohibited. Smaller pets like hamsters and cage birds may be kept as long as they do not disturb other residents through noise or odor, in accordance with the building's regulations. The decision regarding pet allowance is made collectively via a majority vote within the department.

The housing complex consists of white-painted buildings that, alongside the student house offering café, communal rooms, and a gym, create an appealing environment for young adults, filled with activity and warmth. The newest batch of student accommodations, totaling 66 units, are passive houses engineered to drastically reduce energy consumption through enhanced insulation and highly efficient heat recovery systems; the insulation is so effective that minimal motion in the room noticeably raises the temperature. The student dwellings on Korsørvej are also part of the Birk Campus department, situated close to Herning city center and approximately three kilometers from VIA University College and AU-Herning.

Besides the Student House, the campus features shared laundry facilities, a football pitch, and a beach volleyball court. Parking spaces are conveniently located near the residential units, with bicycle shelters spread around the area. The campus is also equipped with charging stations for electric vehicles.

Birk Campus offers a variety of housing styles, including one- and two-story apartments with either terraces or French balconies. Kitchen amenities vary: some units include a cooker hood and stove, while others provide two hotplates and a small oven. All apartments come with a combined refrigerator and freezer, with size varying by the specific layout. Korsørvej residences do not have internet connections installed, whereas the Birk Centerpark flats are prepared for internet service through Dansk Kabel TV. Internet access via YouSee is optional for Birk Campus residents. Korsørvej units generally include a basic TV package. No storage rooms are available, but two-level apartments may offer storage space beneath the internal staircase.

In addition to rent, residents cover utility costs for electricity, water, and heating, which are billed through different methods depending on the unit. Cable TV and fiber internet services from YouSee are optional and paid directly to the provider; the basic channel package is also optional and requires registration.

The entire department includes 323 student residences and a rentable communal house. Construction took place over a period from 1993 to 2008. The addresses within the department are Birk Centerpark 85 to 149 and Korsørvej 1 to 3, all located in 7400 Herning. The apartments are distributed as follows: 81 studios, 176 two-room units, and 66 additional two-room units. Floor plans represent typical layouts; variations may occur between the website images and specific offers.

Distances to key locations are as follows: VIA University College Campus Herning and AU-Herning (Aarhus University) are each about 0.5 kilometers away. The vocational and high schools known as HTX, HHX, and STX in Herning are approximately six kilometers distant. The train station is roughly half a kilometer from the campus, while the Herning Central Library is located about 3.9 kilometers away.
