This area features modern and stylish accommodations nestled in serene surroundings, all just a short stroll away from AU-Herning, VIA University College, and the Export School. The train station is conveniently reachable within five minutes on foot, providing quick connections to Århus and other parts of the country.

Convenience is further enhanced by close proximity to the region’s largest shopping center and a substantial grocery store. Beyond academics, residents can unwind at the on-site Student House, which includes a café, bar, fitness center, and a communal hall perfect for social gatherings and events. The neighborhood's white-painted blocks and the lively Student House contribute to a welcoming and engaging atmosphere favored by young people.

Pets are permitted across the campus, including dogs and cats. However, reptiles and terrarium animals are prohibited. Smaller pets such as hamsters and cage birds are allowed, provided they do not disturb neighbors through noise or odor, in accordance with the community's house rules. The policy on pet ownership is decided through majority vote within the department.

Among the housing options, the most recently built 66 student residences are passive houses characterized by enhanced insulation and highly efficient heat recovery systems, dramatically reducing energy consumption. The phrase often used is that just three hops on the spot will increase the indoor temperature due to superior insulation. The Korsørvej residences belong to Birk Campus as well; these housing units are located near Herning’s city center and are roughly 3 kilometers from VIA University College and AU-Herning.

Community amenities at Birk Campus include not only the Student House but also shared laundry facilities, a soccer field, and a beach volleyball court. Parking spaces are situated in close proximity to the housing, and bike storage shelters are distributed throughout the area. Electric vehicle charging stations have also been installed within the complex.

Housing types vary considerably, offering one- and two-level layouts that may feature either terraces or French balconies. Depending on the unit, kitchens come equipped with either a cooker hood and stove or two hotplates with a small oven. All apartments have refrigerators with freezers, with some units offering larger models while others have smaller ones. It should be noted that apartments at Korsørvej do not include internet access. In contrast, the units at Birk Centerpark are equipped to receive internet service from Dansk Kabel TV, and all Birk Campus residences have pre-installations for YouSee internet and TV services, which are optional. Korsørvej apartments generally have a basic package included. Storage rooms are not available in the apartments; however, two-level units may utilize storage space beneath the internal staircase.

Residents are responsible for paying electricity, water, and heating expenses, which are managed in different ways within the area. Cable TV and fiber connections for television and internet, provided by YouSee, are optional and are billed directly by the service provider. Enrollment in the basic cable package is voluntary.

Regarding distances, VIA University College – Campus Herning, AU-Herning (Aarhus University), and the local train station are all approximately 0.5 kilometers away. Herning Vocational School and Gymnasiums for HTX, HHX, and STX programs are about 6 kilometers distant, and the Herning Central Library is situated roughly 3.9 kilometers from the campus.
