Approval requires that the dog be legal and covered by liability insurance. Each apartment may house up to three dogs with a combined maximum weight of 40 kilograms. Fish, small birds, turtles, and hamsters are also permitted provided they do not disturb other residents.

Applicants must not be listed in the RKI registry in order to qualify for tenancy.
