The residential units at Fårupled/Fårupkollegiet offer practical student apartments designed to foster a strong sense of community. Kitchen cabinetry features wooden veneer elements, although several kitchens have been updated with white cabinets. Each kitchen comes equipped with a stove, extractor hood, and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment. In the two-room apartments, refrigerators without freezer compartments are being installed gradually until 2016. The bathrooms include vinyl flooring and wall coverings, enhancing functionality, and each has a window that supports proper ventilation. Additionally, every apartment benefits from an outdoor storage room.

The two dormitory complexes consist of single-story terraced houses. Fårupkollegiet, constructed from red bricks, was built in phases in 1996 and 2000 and is situated in the southern area of Jelling. Conversely, Højagerkollegiet, located in the western part of Jelling, has been in use since 1984. Each site provides a communal room available for rental at very reasonable rates, alongside shared laundry facilities. The outdoor spaces are inviting and often host various activities, such as gatherings around the communal grill, campfires, or games like beach volleyball, which can be played on a designated court at Højagerkollegiet. Both dormitories maintain an active social environment supported by social media communication channels. Internet access is facilitated through an agreement with Jelling Radio & TV, allowing residents to rent a modem for a small fee. Although the apartments are not specifically designed for wheelchair users, accommodations can be arranged as needed.

Pets are permitted under specific conditions, with one dog weighing up to 40 kg or one cat allowed per two-room unit.

Regarding the neighborhood, the dormitories are conveniently located near University College Lillebælt, providing easy transport options by bus or train to Vejle. The town of Jelling offers a variety of amenities, including cafes, specialty shops, and Byens Hus, a cultural venue hosting concerts, cinema screenings, and a library. Nearby recreational areas include Fårup Lake, a golf course, and pleasant green spaces.
