Situated in convenient proximity to major educational institutions, Fårupled and Højagerkollegiet offer appealing student housing options designed to foster a strong community spirit. The kitchens predominantly feature wood veneer cabinetry, though several have been gradually updated with white units. Each kitchen is equipped with a stove, exhaust hood, and refrigerator complemented by a freezer compartment. Notably, from 2016 onwards, the refrigerators in the two-room apartments have been replaced by models without freezer sections. The bathrooms are functional, outfitted with vinyl flooring and wall coverings, and include a window to ensure adequate ventilation. Every apartment includes an outdoor storage unit for residents' convenience.

The housing complexes consist of single-story terraced houses constructed primarily of red brick; Fårupkollegiet dates back to 1996 and 2000 and is located in the southern area of Jelling, while Højagerkollegiet, established in 1984, is situated to the west of Jelling. Both sites offer communal spaces available for rent at very reasonable rates, in addition to shared laundry facilities. The outdoor areas are welcoming and often serve as gathering points, whether around the barbecue, fire pit, or on the beach volleyball court found at Højagerkollegiet. These dormitories maintain an active social environment, with communication frequently facilitated through social media platforms. An agreement with Jelling Radio & TV makes a modem available for internet access at a modest fee. Although the apartments are not specifically adapted for individuals with disabilities, wheelchair users can be accommodated through flexible arrangements.

Residents of the two-room units are permitted to keep a single pet: either one dog weighing up to 40 kilograms or one cat.

Located close to University College Lillebælt, both dormitories benefit from excellent public transport connections, with bus and train routes granting straightforward access to Vejle. The town of Jelling provides a variety of amenities including cafés, specialty shops, and the cultural center Byens Hus, which hosts music events, a cinema, and a library. Nearby recreational options include Fårup Lake, a golf course, and attractive green spaces.
