HEDENSTED - TØRRING, Department 54 - attractive family dwellings close to town and nature. The homes feature a park-like communal area. Kitchens are open to the living rooms and fitted with light cabinetry; each unit includes a fridge-freezer, stove and extractor hood, and a dishwasher can be connected using an existing installation after application. The shower bathroom has a linoleum floor and light-colored walls, and there is an installation for a washing machine and tumble dryer that can be put in place following application. Flooring is predominantly beech parquet except for practical vinyl in the kitchen zone. All bedrooms contain built-in wardrobes. The development offers an enviable park area with picnic bench sets, a playground, a ball field, a terrace and a barbecue area. Ground-floor apartments have a private garden maintained by the tenant; first-floor units have a balcony and some feature an external, furnishable landing. Each dwelling comes with either a shed or a cellar room. There is a good pedestrian path system into town. Utilities: water and heating are charged by the landlord as a monthly a conto amount; electricity is billed directly by the supplier. The department is a composition of several former departments and includes a variety of housing types and ages. The delightful single-storey terraced houses were built in 1996, while other single-storey terraced houses were constructed in 1989; these family-friendly homes each have their own small garden and terrace, a nearby children's playground, and green lawns with picnic bench sets where neighbours can gather around a grill. Residents may borrow a common room free of charge with space for around 35 people; although it is possible to connect a washing machine in individual homes, there is also a communal laundry available for use for a fee. A section with good location near town and school comprises yellow one-storey terraced houses and two-storey buildings in yellow brick with an elevator; this part was completed in 2005 and is located in the northern part of Tørring. There are no internal steps in the dwellings, making them suitable for mobility-impaired residents, although half of the apartments have an external staircase to the first floor. Residents here have access to a communal room seating about 25 people and with mattresses for four overnight guests, and there are good parking facilities. Bright homes from 1997 consist of single-storey terraced houses on a cul-de-sac near open countryside and a row of two-storey homes sharing a parklike communal area; these units were completed in 1997 on the northeastern edge of Tørring, are without doorsteps and generally suitable for mobility-impaired persons, but note that there are stairs to first-floor units and elevators only in some stairwells; this department also has a rentable common room. In the northwest part of Lindved the quiet terraced houses are located on a blind residential street with very limited traffic; these semi-detached houses were built in 1998 and are single-storey. Modern two-storey apartments erected in 2000 in the centre of Rask Mølle, known as Bryggergården, have red brick façades and a strict architecture with columns and tall grey window sections that provide good light; after application one cat or one dog may be kept in that department. A row of eight yellow-brick single-storey terraced houses built in 2004 forms a department of eight homes in Åle; these semi-detached houses are arranged so a wheelchair user can move around, and the department offers both a common room and a guest flat; there are various social activities in the community house, some open to all Åle residents, and a shared bicycle shed is installed by the parking area. A number of terraced houses and detached villas, all single-storey and located since 1960 in a peaceful residential area in central Tørring, belong to another department; for dwellings with odd numbers from no. 3 and up there are lovely green outdoor areas. Tenants must budget for the TV basic package, which is charged via the landlord; the department has 10 garages available for rent via a waiting list, and all residents can rent a nice common room about 1 km from Grønnevej. A quiet community in the southern part of Ølholm comprises cosy terraced houses built 1974-1976 on a small closed street; the single-storey yellow brick houses with red roofs were insulated in 2015 and fitted with new white windows and doors, and there are well-kept communal outdoor areas with space for ball games and socialising at the bench table sets. Another department made up of single-storey terraced houses in Åle, Rask Mølle, Hornborg, Lindved and Tørring were all built in the latter half of the 1980s; for nearly two dwellings all residents in this department have a washing machine that follows the tenancy. Except for the homes on Kingosvej there is generally a common room available for larger events, and all sites feature well-maintained communal outdoor areas; on Askevej, Hybenvej and Kingosvej it is permitted, after application, to keep one dog or one cat. A department of detached villas and terraced houses in Uldum, Ølholm and Rask Mølle all have private gardens and good locations in the three active towns; the motorway is within convenient distance and links the Triangle Region's larger towns Horsens, Vejle and Herning. All residents have access to a nice common room on Rosavej in Tørring that can be rented for larger events; it is permitted, after application, to keep one dog or one cat, although certain dog breeds are excluded and these are listed in the house rules. Rowhouses central in Ølholm date from 1965 and were comprehensively renovated both outside and inside in 2004-2005; there are communal outdoor areas with bench table sets and a playground, three- and four-room units include a carport, and several common rooms can be rented for larger gatherings. Finally, modern rowhouses completed in 2007 are centrally located in Uldum, built in yellow brick with cement tiles on the roof and arranged in one storey; common rooms for private events can be rented on Rosavej in Tørring and on Hybenvej in Rask Mølle, and in that department it is permitted, after application, to keep up to two pets (dog/cat) except for certain dog breeds specified in the house rules.
Local area: town-close and near the magnificent nature around the Gudenå. The development is approximately 1 km from the town centre with shops, a library and citizen services; school, gymnasium and daycare are also within walking distance. Tørring has its own sports hall, Gudenåcentret, which houses both a swimming pool and a fitness centre. For leisure the Gudenå and the Tørring commons and marshes offer excellent opportunities with trails for mountain biking and gentler walks with a picnic; within walking distance is Tørring Tent Site, run by volunteers, where canoeing on the Gudenå is possible. There are good bus connections to Horsens, Billund, Vejle and Nørre-Snede, the motorway is 3 km away and it is about 20 km to both Horsens and Vejle respectively.
