The Hjørring Department 52 is situated in a calm urban neighborhood characterized by a distinctive and pleasant atmosphere.

Regarding the residences, some retain their original architectural style, while others have been updated by opening the kitchen to create an open-plan connection with the living room. In addition, certain units have replaced their original flooring with new materials. All bathrooms feature tiled floors and shower niches. The department itself was formed in 2016 through the merger of six smaller subdivisions. It comprises three curved blocks rising four stories high, each topped with an elegant rounded roof. Here, homes are arranged like pearls along bright indoor corridors, where residents often gather around the placed benches. The one-story terraced houses were constructed in 1976 and together the structures form a square surrounding a sheltered communal garden. This secluded outdoor space becomes a favored spot for enjoying coffee under sun umbrellas during the summer months.

Nørre Allé sits in the heart of Hjørring, where homes are closely positioned. This section features three-story red brick buildings originally built in 1934 and renovated in 1987. The area also includes attractive two-story red plastered buildings on Nørre Torv and Ths. P. Olesensvej, from 1991, as well as Nørre Torv buildings in a similar style dating back to 1988. At Ths. P. Olesensvej, there is a pleasant green area with picnic tables, and throughout the department, you will find charming cobblestone courtyard environments ideal for enjoying coffee outdoors.

Both Christiansgade and Halsagerstien lie on either side of Christiansgave park, a popular recreational space in central Hjørring. Dronningensgade and Kongensgade face each other and share a cozy courtyard with a bike shelter. There are two shared laundry rooms located on Halsagerstien and Dronningensgade respectively, and a lovely common house on Halsagerstien is available for use by all residents of the department.

The streets of Nørretorv, Nørregade, Ths. P. Olesens Vej, and Tinpottegyde offer housing units ranging from one to four rooms, catering to young people, seniors, singles, and families alike. Additionally, there is one two-room youth apartment available. The Brænderigården on Nørregade was constructed between 1854 and 1857 by distiller Niels Olesen, featuring a charming yellow facade and cozy multi-pane windows. In 1982, the historic buildings were converted into family homes and one youth flat. Tinpottegyde was built in 2001/2002 following old warehouse architectural style to preserve a nostalgic character. Brænderigården presents a very inviting courtyard environment with picnic tables, lawn, flower beds, and a covered terrace. Shared laundry facilities are located in Tinpottegyde, along with bicycle shelters. Parking is available directly outside the homes, with carports available for rental through a waiting list.

In terms of the surrounding area, everything Hjørring has to offer is conveniently close to Store Kirkestræde. This includes theaters, museums, grocery and specialty stores, as well as schools and educational institutions. The sports hall lies two kilometers from the area, and the pedestrian street is only a five-minute walk away. The nature of North Jutland attracts many, and trips to the beach can easily be arranged with Lønstrup located 12 kilometers from Hjørring.
