Åvænget is a collection of terraced houses featuring private gardens and terraces, constructed between 1988 and 1992. Residents have access to shared facilities including a communal laundry room and a guesthouse. Heating in the homes is provided through a combination of electricity and natural gas. The community also offers guest rooms for visitors. Situated in the small village of Nr. Rangstrup, Åvænget benefits from nearby amenities such as a school, church, grocery store, and bakery. The surrounding environment is picturesque, featuring a small stream flowing toward Åvænget. The location provides convenient access to nearby towns, with Toftlund nearly 11 kilometers away, Vojens just over 12 kilometers, and Gram approximately 16 kilometers from Bevtoft.

Originally designed with seniors and individuals with disabilities in mind, the homes include kitchens equipped with rolling carts instead of lower cabinets. The kitchen and living room are combined in an open-plan layout known as a conversational kitchen. There is a utility room that allows for the installation of both a washing machine and dryer. From the living room, occupants can step out onto the garden and terrace, spaces ideal for enjoying outdoor living. Additional opportunities to experience nature are provided by the community's shared green spaces. Flooring throughout the homes consists of parquet in the living areas, tiles in the entryway, bathroom, and utility room, and vinyl in the kitchen.

The units come with kitchen appliances including a combined refrigerator and freezer, a countertop stove, and an extractor hood. Residents have the option to rent a carport within the development. Heating systems run on both electricity and natural gas.

The community primarily accommodates older adults. Decisions related to the maintenance and rent of the development are made collectively by residents at an annual meeting open to all tenants in the department.

Residents have the freedom to modify the interior of their homes, provided they notify the appropriate authorities beforehand. Upon moving out, tenants may receive compensation for renovations made at their own expense.
