Fårup- and Højagerkollegiet offer attractive student accommodations conveniently located near educational institutions. The kitchens feature wooden veneer cabinetry, though many have been updated with white units over time. Each kitchen includes essential appliances such as a stove, extractor hood, and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment. Note that refrigerators in two-room apartments are being replaced by models without freezers up until 2016. The bathrooms are efficiently designed, with vinyl covering both floors and walls, complemented by a window that ensures healthy ventilation. Every apartment benefits from an outdoor storage unit.

These two residential complexes consist of single-story terraced houses. Fårupkollegiet, situated in the southern area of Jelling, was built in red brick during 1996 and 2000. Højagerkollegiet, located in Jelling’s western part, has been in use since 1984. Both offer shared common rooms available to residents at very reasonable rates, as well as communal laundry facilities. The outdoor spaces encourage social interaction with amenities like a barbecue and fire pit, while Højagerkollegiet also features a beach volleyball court. Strong social networks are fostered at both sites, partly through active use of social media. Internet access is facilitated by an agreement with Jelling Radio & TV, which provides modems for a small fee. While these units are not specifically designed for wheelchair users, solutions can be arranged upon request.

Pets are not permitted in the one-room apartments.

Both colleges enjoy proximity to University College Lillebælt, with convenient bus and train connections to Vejle. Jelling town offers a variety of cafes, specialty shops, and cultural venues such as Byens Hus, where residents can attend concerts, cinema screenings, and visit the library. Nearby recreational options include Fårup Lake, a golf course, and several pleasant green spaces.
