Situated in the southern part of Jelling, Fårupkollegiet and Højagerkollegiet offer student housing designed as single-story terraced houses. Fårupkollegiet, constructed from red bricks with building phases in 1996 and 2000, along with Højagerkollegiet, which has been in use since 1984 in western Jelling, provides accommodations in proximity to educational institutions. Each unit features kitchens with wood veneer cabinetry; over time, some kitchens have been updated to white cabinets. These kitchens come equipped with a stove, extractor fan, and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment. Notably, the refrigerators in two-room apartments are being replaced by models without freezer until 2016. Bathrooms are practical with vinyl flooring and wall coverings, and include a window that ensures proper ventilation. Every apartment benefits from an outdoor storage room.

Both colleges boast active communal environments supported by well-established social networks, including the use of social media for communication. Residents have access to a communal lounge available for rent at very reasonable rates and laundry facilities on site. Outdoor shared spaces encourage community activities such as grilling, campfires, or beach volleyball games on the court located at Højagerkollegiet. Internet access is facilitated by an agreement with Jelling Radio & TV, which provides modems for a modest fee. While these homes are not specifically adapted for wheelchair access, solutions are offered for wheelchair users.

Pet ownership is permitted in the two-room units, allowing either one dog up to 40 kilograms or one cat per apartment.

Both locations enjoy convenient connections to University College Lillebælt via bus or train. The town of Jelling offers a vibrant café culture, specialty shops, and cultural venues including Byens Hus, a space for concerts, cinema, and a library.
