The residences at Fårupled/Fårupkollegiet offer attractive student apartments that foster a strong sense of community. Kitchens are fitted with wood veneer cabinetry, although some have been gradually updated with white cabinets. Each kitchen includes a stove, exhaust hood, and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment. By 2016, the refrigerators in the two-room units are scheduled to be replaced with models without a freezer section. The bathrooms feature vinyl flooring and walls, designed for practicality, and include a window to ensure healthy ventilation. Every unit also comes with an outdoor storage room.

These two dormitory complexes are constructed as single-story terraced houses. Fårupkollegiet, a development built in red brick with phases completed in 1996 and 2000, is situated in the southern part of Jelling. Meanwhile, Højagerkollegiet, established in 1984, is located on the western side of the town. Both sites provide a common room available for rent at very reasonable rates, as well as shared laundry facilities. The outdoor communal areas are well-maintained and frequently host various activities such as barbecues, bonfires, or beach volleyball tournaments on the dedicated court at Højagerkollegiet. There is a vibrant social environment at both colleges, which also incorporates social media for communication. An arrangement with Jelling Radio & TV enables residents to obtain an internet modem for a modest fee. Although the accommodations are not specifically designed for disabled access, wheelchair users will have an appropriate solution arranged.

Regarding pets, residents of the two-room apartments are permitted to keep one dog weighing up to 40 kg or one cat per dwelling.

Both colleges have convenient connections to University College Lillebælt. Transportation by bus or train allows easy travel to Vejle, while Jelling itself offers a selection of cafes, specialty shops, and cultural venues including Byens Hus, where music events, a cinema, and a library are available. Nearby attractions include Fårup Lake, a golf course, and expansive green spaces.
